refutor: any reason why the scotch isn't played more at the highest levels? kristjansson scored 0.5/2 with it at this tournament (draw with korchnoi, loss to shirov S Kristjansson vs Shirov, 2003) but i think a 2380 rated IM would be happy with that score v. korchnoi and shirov and i don't think the 0.5/2 was because of the opening...any ideas?
Apr-01-03  ughaibu: I dont see what white's planning with the Scotch, it seems to me to lose time and reduce the tension so black gets an easy game.
