Sep-26-04  Knight13: 13... f4??; it blows my mind up. 23. Bd7?!; black wasted this move and fell into 24. Bxd5 Nxd5?? The Knight should have protected the d7 knight. Nice game.

Boomie: <Chessgames.com> There should be some indication of the match order in the game list. The student would benefit from playing this match in order and reading Morphy's notes which make references to previous games.
May-11-06  MorphyMatt: <Knight13> Why do you always point out terrible blunders in a game only to say "Nice Game"??
Feb-16-09  YoungEd: Morphy's annotations usually aren't that detailed, but in this game I guess they didn't need to be! After pitching a pawn with the rotten 13. ...f4, Black just gets a lost game. The end.
Feb-01-12  Knight13: <Morphy: A short contest, indifferently played throughout by M'donnell, and presenting no point of interest.> Is that why Morphy decided to annotate this game?

Anyway, Morphy could've commented on 12... f5 as well, saying something like, "This move nullifies the light squared bishop's effective entry into the game for some time."
