Nov-14-04  Orbitkind: I can't believe how Polgar anihilates Anand with black.
Dec-08-04  enigmaticcam: What happens after 22.Kxa2? I see 22...b3+. If 23. cxb3, then 23...Qa5+ winning the rook.

notyetagm: If 22 Kxa2 then 22 ... Qa5+ setting up a <winning discovered attack> with tempo (the queen check). After 23 Kb1 b3 24 cxb3 Qxd2 Black is up by a whole exchange and the White king's pawn shield has been destroyed.
Apr-23-06  DrJekyll: Judith with a well played game over the great Anand! Good day kind sirs, Dr Jekyll

notyetagm: 21 ... Bxa2+! is a great tactical shot by Judit Polgar, all based on the possible <DISCOVERED ATTACK> that exists because the <UNDEFENDED> White d2-rook is lined up with the Black b4-pawn.

This alignment of <UNDEFENDED> White d2-rook with the Black b4-pawn gives Judit the idea of putting her d8-queen on a5 to complete the <DISCOVERY CHAIN> Black a5-queen + Black b4-pawn + (<UNDEFENDED>) White d2-rook, with the White rook being the victim, the Black pawn being the discoverer, and the Black queen being the principal attacker in a <DISCOVERED ATTACK>.

sevenseaman: < notyetagm> Good sharp comments, exciting play by Judit. Vishy's development of the LS bishop to e2 is pedestrian.
