refutor: black thought that 8. ... Ng4 was a good move, winning a pawn, but in reality it was a blunder, fatally opening up the f-file

wwall: Instead of 11...Rxe3, Black probably should try 11...dxc4 12.Bxc4 Rxe3

If 12...Be6 13.Bxh7+ Kxh7 14.Qh5+ Kg8 15.Nxf7 Bxf7 16.Qxf7+ Kh8 17.Rf5, threatening 18.Rh5 mate

Better may be 17...Na5 or 17...Qd7 instead of 17...Bg6

19...Kh8 or 19...Kh7 fails to 20.Rf3 and 21.Rh3

After 20.Rf3, White is threatening 21.Rh3 and 22.Rh8.

Nov-27-05  Timothy Glenn Forney: Blacks seems to have a better pawn structure, but the rook falls into a trap, black was a bit greedy here.Ng4 doesn't seem like a blunder to me,its just that 11...Rxe3 is a trap. You are right the open f-file could be a factor in this game.Bill's comment is right on,as always:)
