patzer2: This game is of some theoretical importance in this hybrid Philidor-Pirc opening. Both sides play the most frequently played moves in the ChessGames.com database for the first nine moves. At move ten, Judit varies. However, I believe she ought to have played the more popular 10. Nxd5 as in Kasparov vs Azmaiparashvili, 2003 or G Shahade vs C Lakdawala, 2001 or E Vorobiov vs A Belozerov, 2001 Judit might also have also considered playing 12. Nxf6+ as in Acs vs Conquest, 2002 where white won after sacrificing the exchange for a couple of extra pawns. After 12. c4?! Nxd5 13. Bg4 black appears to have taken the advantage and the initiative from white, and masterfully exploits it for a win.
