Feb-08-05  InspiredByMorphy: 14. ...Rxe7 would have kept the game going. Black was bent on a material advantage, ignoring the positional disadvantage. Nice rook sac by Greco.
Feb-08-05  Zaius: 12...Ne5 would have also been preferable.
Apr-02-05  Jaymthegenius: What a game by Greco! Now you see why I dont play symmetrical king pawn games as black,
Oct-20-05  DeepBlade: Nice game by Greco, although I dont like this opening, and I cant cope with it, if someone takes one of my pair of Bishops or Knights.

Back to the game.
Greco first gives an discovered check, followed by an double check, finished by a some kind of smothered mate but with the Queen, the Black King cant take the Knight, and is smothered by its own pieces. Kudos for Greco.

Nov-15-05  Averageguy: Wouldn't 14.Bxf7+ lead to a standard Greco's Mate?
Nov-26-05  JYMMI: Averageguy, YOUR SUGESTION IS WRONG, BECAUSE BLACK WOULD PLAY 15_...Kh8 AND SO AVOID THE MATE.
Dec-17-05  Averageguy: <JYMMI> My point is 14...Kh8 15.Qg6 hg (otherwise 16.Qh7#) 16.Qh5#. If you mean 14...Rxf7 then 15.Nxf7 or 15.Qxf7+ doestn't look any worse than what the position could've been if NN had played 14...Rxf7 in the actual game continuation.
Jan-15-06  DeepBlade: <JYMMI> please press CAPS LOCK once, its between Shift and Tab, youre welcome.

Two times doublecheck, quadruple check? :P

Too bad you cant triple check in Chess.

Im gonna place this in my profile, those are quality games out there

Jan-15-06  Whitehat1963: Yeah, I like this one, too!
Sep-27-07  wolfmaster: <InspiredByMorphy> You mean 14...Rxf7?
