Mar-04-07  aazqua: There's no shame in losing ot Abraham Kupchik.
Mar-04-07  aazqua: Holy cow. I take that back. This game is horendous. Kf2??? How does white play a gambit and end up behind on development? And why doesn't he resign 20 moves earlier? Uggh. Horace Bigelow, I've lost what tiny respect I never had for you.

Phony Benoni: A contemporary comment from the New York Times: <Bigelow had the temerity to play the King's Gambit against Kupchik, who declined the pawn. Bigelow eventually reached an edning three pawns ahead, but two pieces down, and succumbed to a routine mating net.>
Mar-07-07  Resignation Trap: <aazqua> and <Phony Benoni> In other words, Bigelow had a big ego but not a big Elo.
