Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-08-13  poorthylacine: Ferocious pressure of Staunton in this game. At last Cochrane cracks. Very impressive!

fredthebear: Cochrane played the Open games/positions rather well. Why did he chose this odd, closed set-up that shut out his queen's bishop? 29.exd5?! helps Black more than White, as does the exchange of rooks on the open c-file that Black controls. It's interesting that Black has something of a Hedgehog set-up with his bishops controlling the diagonals of their color.
