Honza Cervenka: 17.Rxf3 would have been much better.
Jan-29-04  TheMightyPawn: Check out J Richter vs K Messere, 1965 which goes on the same lines.
Feb-17-04  matrexius: 9. c3 in the Open Lopez allows the very unpleasant Breyer Attack with 9. ...Bc5, as was played in this game. 9. Nbd2 is the most modern line.
Feb-20-04  matrexius: Actually, 9. c3 Bc5 is the Dilworth Variation. My bad. In this variation, and this game, Black typically trades knight and bishop for the rook and pawn on f2, and pressures f3 intensely via the f-file after it is opened with ...f6.
Nov-04-04  Leviathan: Did I just see Claude Frizzel Bloodgood playing a 'common' opening?? I must be dreaming =D
Jan-15-10  The Rocket: "17.Rxf3 would have been much better. "

no that would be an illegal move.... the rook is pinned

Jan-02-11  weepingwarrior: No, The Rook Is Not Pinned, That's The Best Move, Says Rybka!
Aug-12-12  The Last Straw: <TheRocket> Sorry, I think you have a blindness for Ns. Can you read this message? The R is not pinned due to the N on d4 blocking the pin.
