| Apr-22-04 | | hongisto24: thanks for typing that in...us people who are too lazy to buy magazines! |
| Apr-23-04 | | ruylopez900: yes, thanks <MoonlitKnight> for not only uploading them, but providing translations as well =D |
| Apr-27-04 | | Hidden Skillz: 28.Ke7 doesnt really lose immediately..still better than a straight up checkmate |
| Apr-27-04 | | MoonlitKnight: Well, while the forced mate after 28.Ke7 is much longer, black loses both rooks in few moves and would most likely have resigned after 29.Re3+ anyway. |
| Apr-27-04 | | Hidden Skillz: ye heh..i guess he wnated to make it pretty for carlsen |
| Apr-27-04 | | shr0pshire: <Moonlitknight> Thanks for the tanslation. I always like seeing players own annotations, and although I haven't looked at Carlsen's yet, it should be very interesting! Again, thanks! |
| Apr-28-04 | | ruylopez900: For those who are unaware, the final mating pattern used by Carlsen is known as the Epaulette mate, because that's what the Rooks look like. (kinda sad when you think about it... Two Rooks and all they do is help the enemy checkmate.) |
| Apr-28-04 | | iron maiden: Yeah, kevin86 already pointed out the epaulette mate in an earlier kibitz. Anyone know any other examples of this attractive mating pattern? |

 | | tpstar: <epaulet mate> AdrianP and kevin86 found this one: Van Wely vs Morozevich, 2001 |
| May-30-04 | | sergeidave: Guys, what's the Correct spelling? "epalautte"? or "epaulette"? Thanks! |
| May-30-04 | | AdrianP: <sergeidave> "epaulette" |
| May-30-04 | | sergeidave: <AdrianP> Thanks, man. I'm creating a games collection for epaulette mates... So far I've got 3 games... Contrubitions are accepted, thanks! |
| May-30-04 | | sergeidave: I mean... Contributions... lol |
| Jun-24-04 | | fasting: saludos for Magnus - nice game |

 | | alexmagnus: carlsenīs best game ever. 18. Ng6!! was probably the most interesting move iīve ever seen. bravo magnus, this game made you to my second (after karjakin) chess example.....sorry everybody for unprofessional comment, i am a hobby player |
| Dec-10-04 | | Jintao: I think now that i have seen this game and his comments and his photo... i somehow dont like this kid anymore. |
| Dec-10-04 | | euripides: Eh! Paulette ! |
| Mar-11-05 | | bambino3: can carlsen play as black? |
Mar-11-05
 | | alexmagnus: Clear he can, what should be the question...This one is with white, i call it Carlsen Immortal:), but it doesnīt mean he canīt play as black:) |
| Apr-21-05 | | ryanpd: Shredder suggests 20. ... Qb6 as a possible improvement for black, but still losing: 21. Qxe7 Rde8 22. dxc5 Qc6 23. Qc7 Qxc7 24. Bxc7 It looks like a huge advantage for white still, but Ernst is not totally dead. |

| May-30-05 | | WMD: Mark Diesen presents a flash lecture of this game: http://www.chess.fm/ |
| Jul-20-05 | | Orbitkind: Wow, that's an amazing game. |
| Jul-20-05 | | ongyj: For those who still thinks that "games are not won, they are lost", probably this game is yet another counter-example:) Anyway where did Black actually go wrong? The only cheap try I can suggest is Black playing ...Nxe4 Qxe4 Nf6 trying to gain a move temporarily by kicking the Queen. Thanks for the replies. |

| Jul-20-05 | | Montreal1666: <ongyj:> There are only 2 pages of posts for this game. If you read from the start, you will get the answer to your question and ten times more. |
| Jul-21-05 | | ongyj: <Montreal1666> Thanks. What can I say? Magnus Carlsen really made a masterpiece here! |
