Jun-04-04  acirce: Does anyone know if 60. Kxe4 was really the actual last move in the game? It seems that this leads to a simple draw after 60...g2 61. h7 g1=Q 62. h8=Q Qb1+ and perpetual check, while 60. Kf3! would be winning. See discussion at Magnus Carlsen

tamar: The Aeroflot , Chessbase and Chesslab sites all have the 60 Kxe4 finish. However if you look on Feb 22 posting by <shadowmaster> on the Magnus Carlsen page (Page 6 of 51), he gives the game score in pgn with 60 Kf3 as the last move. I'll believe the chessgames.com kibitzer!
Jun-05-04  acirce: Thank you for that information. It is still a bit confusing with all these sources giving 60. Kxe4. I still hold for more likely that the actual move was 60. Kf3.
Jun-05-04  MoonlitKnight: Yes, I recall watching the game live on ICC. Everybody was wondering why Magnus wasn't resigning instead of desperately trying to give away his knight. After 60.Kf3 he resigned.
Jun-05-04  acirce: Thank you <MoonlitKnight>, that should settle it.
