Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-14-11  qqdos: This is the inception game of the Leningrad/Nimzo-Indian system. Teichmann was the first to find 4.Bg5, counter-pinning the Nf6 - the basic strategic theme behind this opening - but when Black challenged the Bishop with 4...h6, White immediately forsook his pin by exchanging Bishop for Knight by 5.Bxf6 Qxf6 (developing the BQ!) 6.e3 Bxc3+ 7.bxc3 b6 8.Nf3 Bb7=. Why? is a mystery. The game petered out into a short draw and it took a long time for Zak to work out the main line, which Spassky then put into practice!
