Chessical: Yates' experiment with f6 and d6 simply weaken his e6 and f7 squares. Thomas' <13.e6> is very thematic, but there is also the subtle <12.Qf3!> threatening the Ra8. There seems no good answer to this.
Jun-11-05  organist: Moves 1-16 of this game appear as Trap 35 in Chernev's "Winning Chess Traps".
Jun-11-05  fgh: Kramnik would hate to see the Berlin Wall get threated like this :-)
Jun-11-05  hintza: Well it isn't technically a Berlin Wall but I know what you mean! :-)

NM JRousselle: It's embarrassing when a world class player has to keep playing when his opponent is down a piece with zero compensation.
Apr-28-12  King Death: Maybe Yates felt the way Black did after move 9 in this modern day gem (Nunn vs Kiril Georgiev, 1988).
