Honza Cervenka: <Autoreparaturwerkbau: Lovely move, but black shouldn't just resign yet, should he?> Well, it is not only an extra Pawn for white but a protected Passer in quite overwhelming position. Trapl was one of very strong players of very strong Czechoslovak chess generation (Hort, Kavalek, Smejkal, Jansa, Kupka, Janata and others) and so to continue in such a position would be quite futile.

Jun-26-18  Autoreparaturwerkbau: As Honza thoroughly mentiones and Stockfish clearly shows, the decisive mistake a move earlier (15...Nxe5? instead of 15...g4) was enough for Trapl to record a win against compatriot.
Jun-26-18  thegoodanarchist: Can we blame this loss on Trmal illness?
Jun-26-18  morfishine: Checkup
Jun-26-18  TheTamale: Not coincidentally, both players shared a fondness for the band Trapled by Trmals.

Jun-26-18  Ironmanth: Seems a bit premature to resign here! Thanks for this one, chessgames!
