wordfunph: Turkish player S. Kose had been added to join the tournament at the last minute to make the participants even. GM Naiditsch may have taken Kose lightly and so 1-0 in round 1.
Sep-19-12  Shams: I hope they didn't play with plastic pieces, since we'd be robbed of a nice GOTD pun: "the woods of Arcadi are dead". Probably it's already been done, like every other pun that occurs to my caveman brain.

Is 20...Kxh7 21.Ng5+ Bxg5 22.Qxh5+ Bh6 23.Bxh6 gxh6 (23...Nf6 24.Qh4) 24.Qxf7+ Kh8 25.Nd7 best play if Black accepts?

Jan-26-16  RookFile: Should black have played 19....Bg6?

offramp: This wasn't a good pun when it was used for Naiditsch vs Kramnik, 2009, and it hasn't got better.
Jan-26-16  Bdellovibrio: <offramp> And over is your antique joy?

Check It Out: I'm disappointed that this pun has been used again.
Jan-26-16  centralfiles: Why not 12...Qd8 i.e.13.Rc1 a3 14.Nc3 Nb4 heading to d5 with comfortable position.
Jan-26-16  centralfiles: Or at least 14...Nb4 instead of ...O-O

whiteshark: If it fits rehash should be ok.
Jan-26-16  dfcx: According to Stockfish,
black should have accepted the bishop with

20...Kxh7 21.Ng5+ Kh6 22.Nxf7+ Kg6 23.Nxe5+ Nxe5 24.Qc2+ Kf7 25.Qf5+ Kg8 26.Qxh5 Nc4
