Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-23-05   Orbitkind: Lol, I can't believe how long black played on for; a rook against 2 rooks and 4 pawns? ; )
Jul-23-05   aw1988: He should have continued playing so White could promote the two pawns. ;)
Jul-23-05   TheSlid: One imagines black looking up after white's 45th move and saying "Ooo, I didn't know you could do that! Pity I don't seem to have any pawns left..."

chancho: Look at the ratings!I understand Heisman is a Master now, but not then. Why is this game even in the database?

tpstar: Dan Heisman is a noted author and instructor, important enough to be listed on their home page. He submitted several annotated games so we could learn from them. 17. Bc5! is a nice Discovery tactic which wins material. Yet less experienced players sometimes forget that pieces can retreat; after 18 ... Re7 Black only loses the exchange.

Yes, Black played on too long. Or maybe White should have found a quicker winning method. =)

chancho: <Tpstar> I agree that Heisman is a respected Author. I have his book,"Elements of Positional Evaluation". I'm sure he has some Master games in here also.I have to say though, it is rather unusual for a Master to submit a low rated game, even if the tactic in the game was a good one.I am not trying to be offensive. If you guys get that impression, then my apologies.
