Benzol: Another fascinating game using the "Goteborg Variation". Is this really drawn?

kellmano: This is a complicated game after a great opening. What does the Goteborg consist in exactly?

Benzol: <kellmano> The Goteborg variation (also known as "The Argentinian Tragedy") got it's name at the 1955 Goteborg Interzonal when three Argentine players (Panno, Pilnik and Najdorf) were drawn to play three Soviet players (Geller, Spassky and Keres). In the 1958 Interzonal Fischer in a critical last round game against Gligoric was also brave enough to try it. Without repeating everything it's easiest if you look at all the postings at this game Geller vs Panno, 1955

computer chess guy: White would be winning after 23. Nd5! (instead of Rd3).
