Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-12-05   Runemaster: A tough game, ending in a loss for chessgames kibitzer <Eatman> against a strong opponent.

11.Nxe5 looked good, but 11...Qc7 in response threatened ...Qa5 winning a piece. White came out of the scrap with three pawns for the piece, though, and Black's pawn structure was ugly with the doubled 'a' pawns.

After 29...Rxb8, Black had B and N vs R and 2 pawns - a slight material advantage to White, but the light squares were well blockaded by Black, leaving no scope for the central pawns, which increasingly became targets.

36...Nxe5 and 38...Rxd6 were painful blows to White, probably in time pressure.

After 53...g4, the White rook was tied down to defending the g3 pawn, and the end was getting close.
