Sep-04-05  Gbness: It's rare that you look at a game and see a very strong player forcing a weaker, but still strong player all around the board and smashing him effortlessly. This is just one of those beauties.
Sep-04-05  Brown: Really? Happens quite often.
Sep-04-05  aw1988: This is intriguing- analyse Kotov?
Sep-04-05  WMD: Here's Garry getting his arse kicked around by a weaker player.

chancho: Pape preferred getting mated than losing his Rook, after 25... Ke6 26.Qd6+
Feb-21-06  Jim Bartle: What is the purpose of 14. c4?
Feb-21-06  Whitehat1963: <Jim Bartle>, it's a Deep Sacrifice! Another great name for a chess engine, by the way! (See Deep Gandalf)
Oct-17-06  Gowe: <<Jim Bartle> What is the purpose of 14. c4?>

Just take a look to the rest of the game. Opening the "c" file is a very deep move by young Garry. He understood the position pretty good. The "c" file was the heart of the attack.

Apr-12-11  outplayer: 15...Rxe4+ is perfectly playable.
Aug-29-11  hedgeh0g: <Jim Bartle> 14.c4 stops the immediate ...Rxe4+. To get at White's e-pawn, Black has to open the c-file for White.

<outplayer> Yes and possibly the best move in the position. I imagine Black was concerned about threats on f5, f7 and surrendering the c-file after something like 16.Kf1.

Dec-24-14  gmelfranco: interesante el sacrificio de caballo por 2 peones mas agilidad ummmmmmm maestro . me sorprendiÃ’ con esa apertura!!!! nunca la habia visto....
