Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-30-04  Knight13: White's pawn queens! Bird resignes. Good game.

Chessical: Bird allows white rook to dominate his 7th rank, and cannot handle that and the advance of the e and f pawns.

He had an opportunity to equalise when White left his <Rf3> unguarded:

<33...Bxe5!> 34.Rxa7 Bxf4 35.Bxf4 Rxf4

Mar-09-08  popyseed: Can somebody tell me why 25...Qxg3 seems to be an option?

You mean <26..Qxg3>? 27.Rg1 Bh4 (27..Qxd3 28.Qxg7#) 28.Rxg3 Bxg3 29.Qxc7.
