An Englishman: Good Evening: Antoshin pioneered the 8...Bb4?! variation in his 4...Nf6 defense, but while his system seems sound overall, his sacrificial subvariation does not seem to work in the database. Can't deny that the games get rather entertaining, even bizarre. The final position looks like a draw by mutual fear.
May-17-18  Paint My Dragon: It does seem odd that White didn't play on in the final position. After 31 ... Qxe8, 32.Rxb7, he is approx +8.00 on material alone, and I don't see any Black follow up that would concern me. Must have been a time-trouble thing - which might also explain why White didn't play the more natural and superior 31.Qe3, i.e. he would have to spend time calculating the ensuing complications, such as 31 ... Bc3+ 32.Rd2 Nd4!? for example, although they all work out well for White it seems.

An Englishman: Good Morning: Yes, time trouble--bet that explains the draw.
