Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-08-12  optimal play: if 40.Rxe4 then 40...fxe4 41.Ng1 Qh2+ 42.Kf1 e3 43.Qf8 e2+ 44.Nxe2 Qxh3+ 45.Ke1 Ba5+ and Black wins easily, or if 40.Qxd3 then simply 40...Rxc4 wins just as easily. This game was played in round 1 and whilst Freymann finished with 5.0 points, Tereshchenko only ended up with 3.5 (out of a possible 11 I think). Georg Rotlewi finished first with 7 which included a win against Tereshchenko but only a draw against Freymann.
