Honza Cervenka: 26...Nh6!? deserved attention. The idea is 27.c3 Rf8 (threatening 28...Be5#) 28.Bd4 Nf5+ 29.Kh2 Nxd4 30.cxd4 Rf4 31.Ng3 Rh6 and black with material advantage is completely dominating on the board.

Of course, Kramnik's play in endgame was excellent. I like his ability to keep strong initiative in quite simplified position with reduced material.

Jun-13-06  ClubplayerGOLD: What is the reason black does NOT want to play 18...Nc4 ? Is is because of 19.Bd4 by any chance?
Feb-18-08  percyblakeney: 12. Re1 is not a good move... Exchanging queens first gives white the advantage but just look at the position Svidler's move leads to after 15. ... Nd4, ouch.
Feb-18-08  percyblakeney: It looks as if Svidler missed the draw by not playing 46. Kd3 instead of getting his king cut off from the action with Ke1. I realise now that this was a blitz game, and that may explain some of the moves...
