Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-01-10  MKalafatas: This game was played between two national masters from Ohio. 9.Nc3 is a bit unusual; 10.Nd5! was a genuine novelty with a tactical point, which Black completely misses. John Langreck, originally from Kettering, near Dayton, is a very gifted player, particularly in blitz. I've lost touch with him but in the early 90's, while still in school, he spent long hours online at the Internet Chess Club playing 2500-2600 rated opponents and scoring regularly against them. He had a very clear and direct style, much like Bobby Fischer. I believe he is currently working as an accountant in California.
