May-22-08  dtsherer: Chessplayers I have a question. I'm considering playing the KI Averbakh. But happens when 8...Nxd5 instead of 8...exd5? Is that exchange (the former) out of fashion? Any input would help.

kellmano: Hmm not in the database. After 9.Bxd8 from white, black appears to be ok on a brief inspection. After 9. exd5, what would black do though?
May-22-08  dtsherer: sorry, kellmano(that's whats happens when u trust a ptzer like me) i meant 9. Nxd5. The way i put it initially, black drops the queen!
