acirce: Yes, I think 13..Qd7 was the novelty, 13..Bc8 was played in Svidler vs Anand, 2004
Oct-03-04  eigis: To < ray keene > question about last game and 64...Bh4: There is GM Shipov analisis: 64...Bh4 65.Rc7+ Kg8 66.Ke6 Kf8 67.Rc8+ Kg7 68.Rb8! ZUGZVANG e.g. 68...Bg3 69.Rb7+ Kh6 70.Kf7 Bxf4 71.Rb6 Kg5 72.Rxg6+ Kh4 73.Kf6 ...
Oct-03-04  arifattar: ok <maoam> <acirce> chessgames.com database shows 13.. Qd7 as the novelty.
Oct-03-04  Phoenix: Hmm, White's position looks pretty crummy, IMHO. What's the plan?

acirce: Actually the chessgames.com database is too small to be trusted on such matters, http://www.chesslive.de/ is more trustworthy. But can't be trusted 100% either of course.
Oct-03-04  Finn75: a4 or Bb1 is must
Oct-03-04  arifattar: Black's move suggests that he ranks the dark-squared bishop above the rook.
Oct-03-04  Karpova: rad1 is coming

acirce: According to GM Matthew Turner, Black "threatens to equalize" with ..h6 - not that he justifies his evaluation with anything though.
Oct-03-04  Finn75: radi doenst make sense
Oct-03-04  Finn75: just kidding..its the best move here
Oct-03-04  Titicamara: If only black could get his knight on the d3 square, he will dominate the board.
Oct-03-04  Karpova: <Finn75> - 20.Rad1 looks very obvious for me (GM Knaak)
Oct-03-04  Finn75: Karpova: yep..Shredder prefers it too
Oct-03-04  Where is my mind: 20.Rad1 Rxd1 Rxd1 Rd8

Hanada: Kramnik is at 56 minutes...Leko has 1hr and 9 minutes left...
Oct-03-04  Finn75: now Shredder feels a4 is the way to go...
Oct-03-04  Finn75: where you can see the time..?
Oct-03-04  Orbitkind: How long is this move taking?
Oct-03-04  Phoenix: This is at least an 18 minute think.
Oct-03-04  Finn75: it appears that Leko gained relatively small time advantage despite the aggressive novelty...
Oct-03-04  Rawprawn: The time is on the official site. You can put their board and this one side by side.
Oct-03-04  gentle75: What was rong with 15. exd. Then 15... Nxd5 16.Nfe3 will gain more freedom to the bishop on a2 .

tpstar: If 20. Rad1 Black should consider 20 ... h6, 21 ... Kh7 & 22 ... g6, then see where the Nf5 and Bg5 go, then maybe ... Nh5 & ... Nf4. Trying to force open lines with ... f5 at some point might be too risky. I also think Black should keep Rooks on the board and make White trade down.
