Nov-18-04		azaris: Nice positional grind from Westerinen, who is no stranger to tactical play either. How many grandmasters do you know who play both the Caro-Kann as Black and King's Gambit as White? The nice thing about the CK is that it works against the English Opening as demonstrated here. The quirky 4...a6 signals Black's intention of developing his queen's bishop on f5 and then putting all his pawns on light squares. Simple, straightforward yet effective. After the forced 23. c5 White has closed the doors in front of him and Black starts to chip away at the center. White finally cracks under pressure and simultaneously opens up his king and blocks out his queen with the bizarre 32. g4?.
