| pdl521: I don't think 21..Kxh7 is the best move for black because this puts him on a worst position. The answered should at least be 21..Rf6. But I still think that white has a positional advantage and eventually wins the game. Mabuhay and PINOY ! ! |

| blingice: 12..Nxa5 wasn't any good. Paragua was simply drawing that knight to a place where it wasn't defending e5, where he could advance his pawn and displace the knight of f6. What would happen if 14..fxd5?
Otherwise, fantastic attack. Paragua played very aggressively, and he sacrificed the right pieces. |

| aazqua: This looks like a complete cook - the game was part of paragua's preparation and jong simply didn't know not to play the move. Clearly the knight move and decline of queen trade leads to a position in which white is vastly superior, which means the initial n*p is an automatic loss unless their is a better continuation. Such is chess in the age of the computer. |

| jellyace: @aazqua: Please avoid using literally translasted slang terms (lutò -> cook) And are you sure that the game was manipulated? Is that a documented fact? Who goes to a tournament prepared for all possible moves?? Paragua obviously didn't visualize such a position or a specific move before the game started, you know. If he can do that, then he must win every game he plays! About the game: on the 18th move, he could have tried 18. ... Nd8 19. exf7+ Nxf7 20. Bd3 Qd7, etc. though this position is still favorable for white. Thanks to ... Nxa5, white enjoyed the bishop pair. But what should Koonjong have done on his twelfth move? I myself find no better moves than it. I even tried a couple of chess software, and they did ... Nxa5 too. Am I lost here or something? |

| Sim1: I don't think that cook in this case means it was manipulated, just that Paragua's prep was very deep. This is an amazing game, playing it through on guess the move is very difficult. The opening is all text until a5 and then it's hard to see all the combo's until the final one...then it's easy to get all of the mating sacs. Really sharp play. I'm impressed. |
