Jul-01-14  Candy Man: Did black resign due to the threat of 30.Rf1, with the idea of Bf7?

FSR: <Candy Man> Black's position is a horrid mess. He's two pawns down, and White's pieces and pawns dominate the board. Black's queen, bishop, knight and even king all have no moves. His rooks look nice but aren't really doing anything. If White is allowed to play 30.Rf1, he will have the murderous threat of 31.Qf8+! Bxf8 32.Rxf8+ Kg7 33.h8(Q)#. There is no reasonable way to stop Rf1; if 29...Rc1, 30.Rxc1 Rxc1 31.Bf7 wins the queen.
Jul-16-14  thom0909: Why 28.b6 and not Rc1+ trading one set of Rooks (then returning the R to c7)? Once the K moves it's too late b/c no check.
