FSR: Why is this piece of trash in the database? What a horrid game, and a correspondence game no less.
Sep-01-07  Peter Johnson Ng: White Queen on G3. Nice move la????

FSR: btw, I'll bet 3.Ne5? was a notation error by White (this was a correspondence game). Any normal person would play 3.e5. Unsurprisingly, this is the only game in the database with the ridiculous 3.Ne5.

  FSR: Who knows -- maybe White did play 3.Ne5 on purpose, intending 3...Nxe4 4.Nxf7! Kxf7 5.Qh5+ regaining the piece by force, since 5...Kf6? 6.Qf3+ Ke5? 7.d4+ is suicidal for Black. Instead, 5...g6 6.Qd5+ e6 7.Qxe4 d5 is fine for Black. After Pedersen's 3...d6, White should have bailed out with 4.Bb5+! Nbd7 5.Nxd7 Bxd7 6.Qe2=.

Abdel Irada: If this (correspondence) game score is anything close to correct, it lends new weight to the adage, "More time doesn't necessarily produce a better move."
