Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-12-05   sandyobrien: why does black resign here?

43... Be5 44.Re1 Bxf4 45.Rxe7+ Rxe7 46.Rxe7+ Kf8 47.Rxd7 looks playable to me

Jan-12-05   erasmus: It looks to me that if black would play 43. Be5 white will reply with 44. Rxg6+. Then if the king goes to F7 or f8 black will lose the bishop with 45. Bxe5+ (note the discovered check by the rook) or if the king goes to h7 it will be mated with 45. Rh1#
Jan-13-05   sandyobrien: oops.

how could i have missed that?
