Jonathan Sarfati: White's move 61 should be Qf1 not Kf1.
Nov-05-06  Ashram64: yea... looks like a mate...

Jonathan Sarfati: yes, 29...Qc4 was a typical Capablanca mini-combo that won a pawn, and after that there was no chance. Compare Bogoljubov vs Capablanca, 1924
Aug-08-11  xombie: Indeed! Beautiful. But even after that, it there was a lot of wood pushing until a favorable arrangement was reached. It is noteworthy that Black shuttled his queen around, always keeping the a4 pawn (which was weak here) under surveillance. Owing to white's limited manoeuvring room, he could not launch a proper attack against the a4 pawn. And then, gradually, black shifted focus to the b pawn, which was basically the end.

A good demonstration of the two weakness idea.

Aug-10-12  justin2seo: Nice endgame
