Apr-07-06   Medical Director: Good morning. Happy Easter.
Can someone analyze and explain to me why not 32. Rxh7 followed by mate in one or two moves depending on black answer< Thanks

  tpstar: <Medical Director> Good pick-up! White missed a clear win with 32. Rxh7+! Kg8 33. Qxg6# or 32 ... Kxh7 33. Rh4+ mates.

White should have played 16. Bxg7 Nxg7 (16 ... Kxg7?! 17. hg & 18. Qh6+) 17. hg fg 18. Qh6 Rf7 (18 ... Nh5? 19. g4) 19. Ng5 with a winning attack, and not 16. Ng5?? losing a piece to 16 ... Bxh6.

Jul-31-07   Cuellargacharna: Hey tpstar. Thanks for your explanation. No wonder you are a top performing star. Continue to have a happy summer.
Jan-21-09   Samagonka: 2 Queens against one is just not fair!!!
Oct-13-09   mack: An unfortunate final position that doesn't quite tell the story of this game. As two MDs have already pointed out (and here comes a third), 32.Rxh7+ cleans up. Calling Rrose Selavy for a fourth opinion.

I scraped a draw against Carey in the final round of the Galway 'Masters' [sic] on Sunday. Having now seen the sort of small-c conservative stuff he's prone to openings-wise I can understand why he looked a bit distressed at things like 1.d3 and knights all over the rim.
