Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-03-05  SnoopDogg: The attack looks all bark and no bite to me.
Jun-04-05  Catfriend: Hmmm it looked dangerous, and not only just because white played Bxh7. Perhaps 22.Nxg5+ would be better. Any software analysis?
Jun-17-05  DanRoss53: All bark and no bite indeed. Instead of the failed Lasker Gambit, Crafty 19.3 recommends 17. ♘e4 ♗e7 18. ♕g3 f5 19. ♘eg5 ♖f6 20. ♘xe5 with a score of +0.01 looking at ~50 million positions. After the miserable exchange of 17. ♗xh7+ ♔xh7 18. ♖xd7 ♕xd7, Crafty now gives a score of -4.26 with the line 19. fxe5 ♗d8 20. ♘e4 ♔g8 21. ♘f6+ ♗xf6 22. exf6 g6 23. ♖f2 ♖fe8 24. ♖d2 ♕c7 25. ♔g1 -- I really have no idea what White was hoping for here.
