Honza Cervenka: Nice little variation on the Legal's mate theme. Instead of 12.Nc6+ white could have continued 12.Nd5+ Nxd5 13.Bxd5 dxe5 (due to threat 14.Bg5+ Ke8 15.Bf7# black has no time to save the Queen and after 13...Kf6 14.Bg5+ Kxg5 15.Nf7+ white gets the Queen back with interest too) 14.Bg5+ Kd7 15.Bxd8 Rxd8 16.Rxd1 with win of Pawn and advantage though opposite colour Bishops can give black some hopes to draw the game in the end. In final position black King is hopelessly trapped in the centre under fire of white pieces and he faces mate or heavy loss of material.

interesting to see 16...Bg7 instead of Richter's 16...c5
