wwall: This game was the first result of the Stockholm Olympiad, played in round one. Montgomerie played for Scotland and Book played for Finland, both on Board 2. Looks like Black was playing by the book. Finland won 2.5 to 1.5.

Instead of 15.Qd3, if 15.fxe5, then 15...Qg2 16.Rg1 Qf2+ 17.Kd2 Nc6 and 18...Nxe5.

Instead of 18.fxe5?!, perhaps 18.Qb3, threatening 19.Qxd5+. If 18...Be6, then 19.Qxb7.

After 18...Bg4!, Black threatens 19...Qg2 and 20...Qxe2 mate.

After 18...Bg4, if 19.Qb3, then 19...Bxe2 20.Qxd5+ Kh7 21.Rg1 Rf1+ 22.Kxe2 Rxa1 23.Rxa1 Qg2+ 24.Ke1 Rf8 and wins.

Instead of 20.Nf4, if 20.Nxd4, then 20...Rad8 (threatening 21...Nc4) 21.c3 Nxe5 23.b3 Nd3+ and White has to give up his queen to avoid mate.

If 23.Qd3 instead of 23.Bxe3, then 23...Qg2 (threatening 24...Qf2 mate) 24.Rf1 Nxe5 25.Qb3+ Kh7 and Black threatens mate with 26...Qe2 mate.

If 28.Kc3 instead of 28, Kd2, then 28...Be6 mate, or 28...b5 mate.

After 29...Qe4, Black threatens mate with 30...Qxc2. If 30.Qd2, then 30...Bf5, threatening 31...Rxc2 and mate in a few moves.
