Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-02-05  khense: Black is a day late and a dollar short throughout the game. White correctly decided that black's effort to achieve NXC2 was not worth it.
Jul-02-05  InitiativeCheck: I wonder which move the pun refers to?
Jul-02-05  Gowe: Qxc1 29.Rxc1 axb4 30.Bxd8 and white is up a knight. I think a5 was a horrible move but i am not sure what was the best for black. The whole match is a little confusing for me, this moment is when you think, where is <patzer>?
Jul-02-05  cade: 13...c5? Really? I would never have even considered such a move myself.

OhioChessFan: Hard to believe a 2400 player would initiate the Nxc2 maneuver. <Gowe>, black is already lost by the 26th move. He's down a pawn, has no reasonable plan to activate the King rook, and the d4 Bishop is in trouble.
Jul-02-05  kevin86: A funny position;everything seems to be en prise at the end of this one.
Jul-02-05  jkiipli: <cade> black has to worry about losing the exchange with 14.b4
Jul-02-05  cuendillar: <Nxc2 manoeuvre> It is often a good idea to mess things up against stronger players. Who knows, he might even make the first mistake.
Jul-02-05  cade: A pawn and a rook are worth a knight and a bishop. If he didn't want that exchange he should never have played Nxc2 in the first place.

c5 is just such a weakening move.

Jul-02-05  underrated: i think c5 was nessacay to save the black night, it had no where to go and black couldnt defend it foever with just the bishop...
Jul-02-05  trumbull0042: 28...Qxc1 Rxc1 29. axb4 Bxd8 30. Bb7 axb4 perhaps.
Jul-04-05  hippatxu: <Gowe> & <trumbull0042> in your line both play 29. ..axb4 but with 29. ..♖e8 white have the ♖b4 and the ♗f6 under attack. 30 ♖b6 gxf6 31. ♖xf6 and white is only a pawn high in material, the position beeing anyway.
