Oct-10-05  Maral: after Topalov's triumph in Argentina all the non-bulgarian here must learn bulgarian language.....

TheAlchemist: Bologan suggested 26.Nh5!? on playchess, so...
Oct-10-05  sharkw: I'm rooting for Topalov, but grabbing a pawn and relying on computer-like defense is a hard way to play the game. I'm not saying that Black's not fine here, but I hope he's analyzed this position at home already (since Schiller made a comment about ...Qd5 having been previously suggested I assume he looked at it a bit), but a single misstep (if one hasn't already been made) and it's all over. Before the computer era I believe the majority of GMs would strongly prefer the White position after Ne2, given that the attacking lines for White look very strong indeed.

What I hope Topalov did not do: just plug in ...Qd5 into the computer and look at the evaluation of -.24 or whatever and think, yeah that's fine if I get to this position I'll find the solution over the board -- that would just be plain irresponsible.

Anyway it looks like an exciting game, White's got a threatening pile-up on the kingside and can even bring in the extra artillery with a rook lift, I for one cannot find a clear defense but we'll have to see what Topalov has planned.

SCUBA diver: White must play B-f6 to stop the e pawn. .............
Oct-10-05  Chicgirl: Upon closer examination, Nh5 actually gives white an advantage in 2 of the lines that I looked at.
Oct-10-05  Oginschile: Personally I am a little jealous I don't speak bulgarian. Considering the way this tournament is going, it seems like the appropriate language. Congratulations Bulgaria!
Oct-10-05  Saruman: I am back again, comp eval?
Oct-10-05  Mateo: 26... gh 27. Bf6 Nh8 28. Bh8 Kh8 29. Qf6 Kg8 30. Re3 looks good for white.

WannaBe: Just wait for the Women Championship games... We'll have Russian, Chinese, Hindi, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Estonian, Latvian, and all the other -ians...

Wouldn't that be a hoot! Have to add more language support to my browsers just to read what I can't understand! =)

Oct-10-05  TrueBlue: I want to applogies for most Bulgarians here. Speaking Bulgarian is rude! Not to mention there is a forum at topsport where Bulgarians can also post in Bulgarian about the game. So, yes, I do think English should be the official language. I am happy that so many people appreciate how extraordinary it is for a chess player from a small country as Bulgaria to be the King of Chess!
Oct-10-05  BateGoiko: thanks, Oginschile !

well, now that I know Bulgarian, I'd much rather learn to play chess !

;-)

kudos !

Oct-10-05  Saruman: 28.Nxe8 Bb7?
Oct-10-05  ChessLeader: Adams has an interesting plan. B-f6 with R-h3 might have been more solid. We'll see if his plan works.

  Ulhumbrus: 27 Nf6+ seems the simplest and quickest way to win eg 27... Kf7 28 Nxe8 and Black has still no good square for his N. Or 27 Nf6+ Kf8 28 Nxf8 Nf7 29 Nf6.
Oct-10-05  borima: normalno nie bulgarian sme taka i vav futbola sme taka kato vkarame gol i posle pochvame da pazim i nakraq gybim
