Jul-08-06   madlydeeply: Why trade queens when down a piece in the kings gambit? How about 12 Qc4+ d5 13. Qxc7+
Mar-13-07   Gameoverziggy: White played very poor here, mind you his rating was not above 1800 even
Apr-03-07   Atking: <madlydeeply: Why trade queens when down a piece in the kings gambit? How about 12 Qc4+ d5 13. Qxc7+> Well not a piece down as after the exchange White can recover the piece simply by 13.Be5+ Kg8 14.RxBf8+ and 15.BxRh8... 11.Qe2 could be interesting

Whack8888: why play Kings gambit against someone who is rated 700 points above you? Four Knights and hope for a draw!

This game (as well as 7 others in the DB, all of which also feature Kiyotaka Sakai as either White or Black) took place in a correspondence thematic run by the IECG (International Email Chess Group). In this thematic, one of the stipulations was that all games be played with the normal variation of the Muzio (i.e., up to the move 6 Qxf3, so excluding such sidelines as the interesting 5 ... d5).

Aug-30-08   JonathanJ: very funny position after move 10!
