  fredthebear: Black's rook sacrifice proves itself sound. After 21.RxRd1 the simple 21...exNf4 leaves Black a piece up w/safer knights and a pending exchange of bishops on the long diagonal.

Instead, 21.QxRd1 loses the White queen for less material and leaves two minor pieces hanging. Both sides will get some material, but Black still has the queen on a thinned out board.
