Phony Benoni: This game was published in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, December 12, 1892.

There appear to be typos in our game score: Black's last two moves hould be <40...Bb4> and <41...Kb6>.

The December 11th issue of BDE gives a complete account and explains the unusual circumstances behind one of Lasker's "losses":: <"Dr. Taber failed to obey the customary rule of being promptly ready to move when the single player reached his table, and under the rule forfeited the game, but Mr. Lasker courteously contented himself by resigning the game, though he had the exchange and a pawn advantage and a sure victory.">

The games were as follows:

Lasker 1 Hodges
lasker 0 Broughton (French)
lasker 1 Stewart (French)
Lasker 1/2 Finlay (King's Gambit)
Lasker 1/2 Colwell (King's Gambit)
Lasker 1 Park (Ruy Lopez)
Lasker 1 Elwell (irregular)
Lasker 1 Thayer (Scandinavian)
Lasker 1 Frere (Sicilian)
