Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-12-06  Bobak Zahmat: Another Albin Counter Gambit by Kasimzhanov. Although, after the simplification the game gentlemen's draw. I prefer this game more: I Sokolov vs Morozevich, 2005
Jan-12-06  Astardis: maybe 30.f3 instead of Rc3 in order to start moving the King side pawns?
Jan-12-06  Bobak Zahmat: <Astardis: maybe 30.f3 instead of Rc3 in order to start moving the King side pawns?> It is still a theoriticall draw.
Jan-12-06  Astardis: sure. but it looks like a position, Karpov might like. after all, Karpov was playing his co-leader in this tournament. beating him would have meant taking over the top spot from him.
Jan-12-06  Bobak Zahmat: <Astardis> Ofcourse he would like to beat his co-leader, but this position is draw unless of the two players blunders. I don't see it happen!
Jan-12-06  Bobak Zahmat: Back Rank Mate is the theme in this game, see here some great puzzles, try it <Astardis> http://www.academicchess.com/Games/...
Jul-20-09  ToTheDeath: 23.Bd1! retains the pawn advantage, as Black's black rank is weak after 23...Bxd1 24.Rfxd1, while 23...Bxa4 and 23...Bc4 are both met by 24.Bc3!

Missing such tactics in a rapid game is not uncommon.
