WannaBe: Topalov wins, under 40 moves. Ruy Lopez.
Jan-17-06  offramp: That will be cool.

  TheAlchemist: Draw in 158 moves.
Jan-17-06  LluviaSean: white wins. long slugfest...CARO-KANN!!
Jan-17-06  Steppenwolf: Draw offer by Mummydiarov after the eleventh move. Topalov will not even find it funny. Mummydiarov to fall off his chair from a back rank mate at the sixteenth move.

Sneaky: Topa won't open with 1.e4 because he doesn't want to have a draw against Mamer's Petrov Defense.

Instead he'll open with 1.d4, where Mamer's repertoire is very limited: either the Grunfeld or the KID.

Since the KID is out of fashion for reasons that I don't understand, my prediction is a 57 move Grünfeld Defense, 1-0.

Jan-17-06  Ludamad: 1. c4!! 1-0
Jan-17-06  biogear: Do you think that Mamedyrov have some chances against Topalov? I dont think so
Jan-17-06  gunnar373: Topolov will probaly win but may S. M. could surprice him.
Jan-17-06  Bobak Zahmat: This will be an another hard working game for Topalov, but he will prevail and take the full point.

Robin01: I believe Topalov will open d4 and face the Gruenfeld.
Jan-17-06  hintza: 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nxe5 d6 4.Nf3 Nxe4 5.Nc3 Nxc3 6.dxc3 Be7 7.Bf4 0-0 8.Qd2 perhaps.
Jan-17-06  netlava: I predict a Petrov defense.
Jan-17-06  sciacca khan: <Sneaky> I think Topalov would be more than ready to deal with a Petroff Defense from Mamed, in all honesty. I think we will see a Spanish Game, closed, maybe even a deferred exchange version. Mamedyarov may play for a draw again, but Topalov may not settle for being another of his victims. I see a long win for Topalov here in my crystal ball. You take a look!

suenteus po 147: If Topalov has shown anything it is he plays until a decisive result is reached. Since Mamedyarov doesn't strike me as the one to win, he's definitely going down.
Jan-17-06  Australopitecus: Topalov will win easy..
Jan-17-06  Akavall: I am predicting 1. e4 and a lucky escape for Mamedyarov, on the grounds that he is replacement.
Jan-17-06  Dionyseus: Go Topalov
Jan-17-06  Kelvieto: I am hoping for an upset

ketchuplover: May the better player win :)
Jan-17-06  Hiarcs: it is interesting because topalov is the current adult world champion and his opponent in this game is the current junior world champion, so we have a clash of current world champions in this game.
