  Benzol: Their encounter in the 2005 Auckland Zonal was an interesting game. I'm hoping to upload all the Zonal games at some stage in the future. A lifetime is so short.

Jul-24-06  Runemaster: 17.Na4 makes nice use of the a3-b8 pin. It's made much nastier by the fact that after 18.Bxf8 White is threatening Qxf7+ followed by Qg8#

I think this game is a good example of finding the right squares for the minor pieces, as opposed to bringing them out any old where just for the sake of development.

Somewhere around move 11, I started thinking, where does the dark-squared bishop go, and when's he going to bring him out? Solomon pressed on with the central pawn advance, and it soon became clear that the bishop was deadly on a3, which wasn't an obvious square a bit earlier in the game.
