Apr-17-06   Averageguy: Lovely game <tpstar>, great combination at the end to go up a piece. I though that you were a two knights player?

tpstar: <Averageguy> Thank you very much, little fella. =) As a junior I played the Main Line Giuoco Piano as Black, then switched to the Two Knights in college as being more lively. Several of my early GP games (1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Bc5 4. c3 Nf6 5. d4 ed 6. cd Bb4+ 7. Nc3 Nxe4 8. 0-0 Nxc3 9. bxc3 d5 10. cxb4 dxc4) featured clutching the extra Pc4 (often by ... Be6 or ... a6/... b5) and converting the endgame. This is one of the few times I used a Strong Point defense keeping the center closed. It's good for 2N players to have an Italian background, since many games continue 4. d3 Bc5 anyway.
