HeMateMe: Cool. I think this was my pun, unless someone else submitted the same thing.

HeMateMe: I like that one, too.
May-07-13  SamAtoms1980: Is the d-pawn silent?
May-07-13  abuzic: <23.Nxg4!> deserves credit, as it exploits the weak B on d7, the potential fork Nf6+, for example: 23...Re6 24.Nf4 Qe4 25.Nxe6 Qxg4 26.Nxg7 Qxg7; and 23...Kh8 24.Ngf6.

<(23...Qe6 was a mistake after the 2nd sac: 24.Nxg7! Kxg7?)> but what else? if 24...Qg6 25.Nh5; and for 24...Qe7 25.Nxf5

Instead, black had a nice Q sac after: <23.Nxg4!>

23...fxg4! 24.Qg6 <here 24.Nxg7? has no effective compensation after 24...Kxg7; and if 24.Nf4 Qe4>

24...Qxh5! 25.Qxh5 Rb5 26.Bg5 <26.Qg6 Bf5 and white has to give back the Q: 27.Qxg7+ Kxg7, or if 27.Qh5 black perpetuates ...Bd7 and ...Bf5>

26...Rxe1+ 27.Rxe1 Kf8,

Black will collect the B and remain with a playable position ♖+2♗+♘+5♙ for white's ♕+♖+6♙

May-07-13  ChessDragonG69: Can somebody please explain to me why 18...f4 was not played when black has so many defenders on the Kingside and there is no obvious follow-up to White's 18.Ng3?
May-07-13  widjaja70: if 18...f4 then White Play 19. Nh5, followed by Qg6. Given Black uncoordinated pieces, Black has no adequate response to 19. Nh5.
May-07-13  kevin86: The D is silent,the d-pawn was VERY LOUD!
May-07-13  Gilmoy: If <3..g6> is a fianchetto, then what's <9..f6 12..g5 13..h6>?

Bf5-Bg6 would be pretty cool though:

May-07-13  goodevans: <abuzic> Nice analysis.

Regarding your <"26.Qg6 Bf5 and white has to give back the Q: 27.Qxg7+ Kxg7">, I think this is better for white than <26.Bg5> since after <27...Kxg7> white can win the ♖e8 with <28.Bxh6+> leaving him with a definite plus.

May-07-13  catlover: I guess you could say the d pawn was unchained.
May-07-13  waustad: I thought of Zingarella as in Azucena. We all have different ideas of what a pun should do. I've never voted on them thinking that it would be a conflict of interest since I post puns. After seeing several people comment on those games that often post puns, I suspect that my scruples are not well place.

I thought that until I saw there is mate in three starting with 24.Qg6

You should both check out <abuzic>'s analysis towards the top of the page.
