Phony Benoni: However, The Baron still came out ahead in the match because it won the Magna Carta game.
Oct-12-09  dumbgai: The difference between a human and a computer: a machine would rather be slowly but surely squeezed to death than to try something risky.
Oct-12-09  YouRang: Nice pun. :-)

Honza Cervenka: Pulling rank? Ask the Plantagenets (especially Edward II., Richard II. or Henry VI.) of it...:-)))
Oct-12-09  newzild: Superb game, really. You have to hand it to silicon...
Oct-12-09  WhiteRook48: 60 Qe5+ excellent way to break a pin

I don't know about that, but I have heard the latest computer cheating scandal involved Rybka using an implanted copy of Carlsen's brain.

Oct-12-09  drpoundsign: lots of blunders by black. Maybe computers are still dumber than humans??

Computers have always been dumber than humans. Faster doesn't mean smarter.

Honza Cervenka: <Computers have always been dumber than humans. Faster doesn't mean smarter.> There are big differences in quality of software. Bad chess program on the fastest comp in whole universe would still play like silicon patzer. On the other hand some engines and especially her Majesty Rybka the Magnificent are pretty good even on average hardware. Of course, with the best hardware they are much stronger. But don't forget that all these engines were created by humans...
