  Ulhumbrus: 10...Bb4 threatens ...Bxc3 followed by ...Na5, ...c5 and ...c4. 15 Qf3 allows Black finally to carry out the threat.10 Bd2 instead of 10 Nc3, 10 Bd2 avoids everything.Assuming, that is, that White wants to develop his QN on c3 at all.

  Ulhumbrus: Instead of 34 Kh2, 34 Qe3 begins tha plan of preparing f4. Black can play ..Re7 in which case White can match the Black Rook on the e file by Re1.The trouble is that Black may then play ...Nc7 and ...d5. One alternative to all this is to play for f4 in an ending after offering an exchange of Queens by 38 Qg4.
