WannaBe: After 30. Rb7+ Kamsky seems to be better. (Or then again, I usually don't know what I'm talking about.)
May-19-06  bharatiy: sorry to bother you lot, but I dont see transmission room, there is broadcast room
May-19-06  borisbadenoff: yeah broadcast room. I didn't know the english name for sure. cuz i don't have the english interface
May-19-06  yalie: 30..kf8 rg1 g5 e5 gives Gata the edge
May-19-06  borisbadenoff: Yasser:

Well, after Anand plays 30...Kf8 31.Rg1 g5 32.e5, active pieces.

Susan: But Gata will make Anand sweat for fun

Peligroso Patzer: Anand may have equalized after 32. ... Ra1 33. Rxa1 Rxa1. What do the GMs think?
May-19-06  yalie: this seems drawn .. i have a sneaking suspicion Gata is going to go for the jugular and pay by overextending

WannaBe: Kamsky's Rook seems to be able to do more damage than Anand's.

KingG: This game is disappointing from Anand. He is a full point behind Kamsky, and there are only 3 games left. Instead of playing something sharp and theoretical like the Najdorf, as Kasparov or Topalov would have done, he plays 1...e5. Now, there is nothing wrong with this under normal circumstances, but considering the tournament situation, and with Kamsky being quite happy with a draw, i think he should have been more ambitious. He got what he deserved when Kamsky played the exchange variation.
May-19-06  chessmoron: yes <KingG>, a very disappointing game for Anand.
May-19-06  peters4n6: I just find it funny that Kamsky was playing blitz games on ICC 4 hrs before the game with Anand. That's like LeBron James playing a game of pick-up with his friends 4 hours before game 6 of the NBA Finals (sorry for the US basketball reference).

Ron: Playing blitz games on the internet before playing a game in a major tournament may not be a bad idea. One, its like warm up exercises. Two, one can experiment with different ideas on the Internet before playing them in a more important game.
May-22-06  samikd: I agree with <KingG> that Anand got 'what he deserved' for not playing the Sicilian in a must-win situation.
