Honza Cervenka: Wasting of time in any opening is always somewhat risky but in Sicilian it is almost suicidal. Black's combo looks quite pretty, although white could have resisted longer playing 21.dxc4 Bxf2+ 22.Kxf2 with three minor pieces for the Queen.
May-23-06   Autoreparaturwerkbau: Honza, it seems you are on the mission for "searching of the bad openings" today. :)

  dakgootje: Ouch....that hurts.

so whites main mistake was the pawn pushing and thereby failing to develop enough? nice played by black, is it 'normal' to see such things with that rating?

Jun-06-06   offramp: Valdes does seem under-rated, this is a brilliant game, although as Honza says white could have done the 3-pieces-for-a-queen trade with 21.Qxc5.

Perhaps 16...b4 was more thematic.
